The College has an extensive track record in this field and provides the course through a team who have considerable subject, educational and industrial expertise. The Level 5 programme is intended for professionals with several years’ FM experience who will normally have mid-management experience in a facilities management sector and wish to enhance their specialist and management skills. The delivery for the diploma programme will be over forty three weeks, one evening per week in four terms.

There are lectures and workshop sessions and these are interactive and lecturer led sessions. Whilst documentation will be provided, learners should purchase the books recommended by the course leader. The Level 5 programme will normally be delivered on Tuesday evenings. The Level 6 programme is intended for managers of high experiential levels who are working in mid to upper management in the broad facilities sector, and who wish to enhance their specialist and management skills. Lectures are run from 5.30 to 8.30 pm on Monday evenings, with a short mid-evening break. There are reading weeks mid term and learners will be expected to continue their studies between terms.

The formal sessions are interactive, where learners are expected to share their experiences within the group. The structure of levels 5 and 6, which complies with the requirements of the National Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), comprises a range of mandatory and optional units. Assessment of these units is by written assignments.
