The Communications and Marketing award is new for 2005. To build on its Investors In People (IIP) accreditation, winners GSH developed a communications strategy to overhaul its approach to people development.
Using the four key principles of IIP: Commitment, Planning, Action and Evaluation, a new drive was initiated to broaden the methods of communication to encompass all staff and in particular staff who transferred to GSH under TUPE. This initiative, dubbed ‘Excellence Through People’ includes continuous improvement in employee communication, inductions, appraisals, mentoring, apprenticeships, management development and succession planning.
The success of this strategy has been proven not only by the continued success of GSH but importantly by external audit using the leadership factor survey.
