BIFM Award for Best Practice in New Build 2006

Within this category we were looking at the extent of FM integration throughout the whole process of planning, designing and building and operating a new facility.  In particular we wanted to see how the need for a flexible, fully functional and efficient solution was recognised in the project brief and delivered in the finished building.

Judges comment:

"The National Trust clearly demonstrated best practices by focusing on minimising CO2 emissions and a strong environmental performance overall. The added fact that staff showed enthusiasm about coming to work in the facility made it the winner in this category."

2006 Winner: The National Trust for their project ’Heelis’
