BIFM Award for Innovation (System and Services)
Entries are sought from all areas of the FM industry where innovative solutions have delivered major improvements in service delivery, safety or cost.
This is an independent award for innovation in FM across every scope of service. It can relate to technology, use of space , service delivery etc.
The primary measure of success will be how the Innovation improved the solution to a problem and can range from the simplest (and least expensive) to the most complicated rationalisation. The applicant should include sufficient data to back up their submission in terms of cost effectiveness as well as being able to demonstrate the novelty of the solution in a clear and concise way.
The definition of Innovation is "The act of introducing new ideas and methods in a novel way."
Remember use of the utmost clarity when explaining a submission, particularly if it is complicated, please do not hide behind jargon, three letter acronyms etc use plain English, remember the judges having not been living with the idea as long as the applicant has however they are very keen to find out what he has got to say because after all Innovation is the key to the future. Explain the need for the Innovation, how it was developed , any plans for the future and of course the resultant benefits.
