This entry looked at the refurbishment and re-occupation of the PCT’s HQ building and was known as The Shifting Sands Project locally. The one element that singled this project out from the others was that it was wholly led and delivered by the Estates and FM team. Not only did this team select and design this building, they really did drive a change in the way the PCT HQ worked and the way it used its space. Through an effective communications strategy involving the whole business, this property strategy was delivered fully with the business now operating in a very different way, with open plan space throughout (including the Authority CEO & Chair), almost no dedicated desk space to people (excepting DDA needs), space utilisation being thoroughly understood and regional staff now very keen to work at the HQ building.
