Judges Special Recognition Award
> Kajima Community
What the judges say ….
Kajima Community was launched in 2004 to run community use at Kajima Partnerships’ PFI schools. Their mission was to provide a holistic local marketing and management programme enabling school assets to be used for local initiatives to the greatest degree possible, benefiting both the wider local authority and the school specifically, with re-investment projects and increased local engagement and understanding. Commercially, the model was also designed to enhance and improve the relationship with the local authority and school leadership, demonstrating commitment to long-term partnership and customer-orientated service.
Although the public profile of the project is limited, it is now invaluable locally in each project case and through recognition at major events like tonight, it is certainly growing!
The judges liked the explicit value being created and the very real and high quality impact Kajima Communities is having on the local neighbourhoods around its projects showing how commercial business and social infrastructure and services can deliver a remarkable sense of community integration by co-existing under smart and exciting leadership.
