Winner: Dave Whiteley

Dave Whiteley is a stalwart BIFM volunteer who has successfully organised BIFM North Region events for many years. He is full of ideas and enthusiasm for the BIFM and facilities management more generally. He dedicates a huge amount of time to the BIFM north-east region, together with his various charity adventures, as well as his day job as a facilities professional at Northumbrian Water.
 
Dave is enthusiastic and passionate, not just about the core profession and its people, but also to ensure its future and sustainability. The BIFM North East group have been lucky to have Dave as events co-ordinator, and he has obtained access to some prestigious venues for BIFM members. He provides endless support to the committee, and willingly shares knowledge and information.

In addition to his own personal input and involvement Dave has allowed the Region to host a number of members’ events over the years at his premises and sponsored these on each occasion. He has actively encouraged his staff to get involved with BIFM and his colleagues have attended many events with him to help in their own personal development.

Dave is, without doubt, one of our industry’s real characters and, as an excellent ambassador for BIFM, he is highly deserving of his BIFM Recognition Award.
