Details There are three key areas of energy legislation that have a major impact on FMs in the UK: Energy certification, Part L of the Building Regulations and the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC). Many non domestic buildings need an energy certificate showing building energy performance. These certificates are required in all new Buildings, at sale or rent of existing buildings and annually in large existing public buildings. Also, if you carry out changes in your building then efficiency standards under Part L comes into play. Large buildings will also become involved in carbon trading (CRC) in 2010. FM’s need to know what the requirements are and be aware of their obligations. This course provides an overview of these three important requirements.
