Details Are you keen to bounce ideas and experiences off fellow FM professionals? Would you benefit from a regular free, friendly and informative forum to discuss topical issues and challenges with regional FM colleagues?

The next group meeting is on Tuesday September 7th, 16:45 for 17:00, back at our original location, Sheffield Hallam University. This time we're at the Sheffield Business School / Stoddart Building (S1 1WB) on Arundel Gate, directly opposite the tallest building in Sheffield - easy access from the station, and loads of parking nearby.

One proposed topic is an introduction to 'systems thinking' and 'lean' in an FM context, from Paul Wyton: Lean thinking is an approach to organisational development and process design that is focussed on waste (as in surplus, not as in rubbish!) reduction, and is gaining increasing attention within FM.

As always, if there are further topics that you'd like to table for discussion, please email them over to add to the list of 'current FM issues' which we can draw from as we progress.

If you are interested in coming along, please email Ian Ellison, along with any further discussion topic suggestions in advance of the session: i.ellison@shu.ac.uk

You may also like to think about what the group should do for our first ever November / December event - perhaps more of a Christmas social? The network is for the benefit and ownership of the group, after all....

Please note however that Ian is on leave now until September 6th, so there will not be the usual second round of confirmations of attendance. By all means confirm coming, for hospitality numbers etc, but don't expect any chase-ups or further info this time!

We look forward to seeing you there....
