Details Are you distressed by the slow rate of progress in rolling out sustainability across the built environment? Or do you see sustainability as a distraction from providing the UK with the modernised infrastructure and building stock it needs?

Whatever your views, now is your chance to make them known. The UK Government’s Strategy for Sustainable Construction (DTI) is under review, to be published in 2006.

This consultation workshop is an opportunity for you to influence the content and direction of the Strategy.

The industry-led Sustainability Forum is taking forward the programme of work begun by the Sustainable Construction Task Group. It recognises that there is a need for an overarching Framework for all the recent sustainability initiatives from ODPM, DEFRA and OGC as well as the Strategy. This Framework will act as a “Vision Statement” setting a clear agenda for the UK construction industry. Stakeholder views collected at this event will develop the Vision and build the Framework as well as feed into the Strategy review.

This workshop will be of particular interest to designers and contractors along with other construction professionals and clients. Delegates will:

* feed into the review of the UK Sustainable Construction Strategy and gain an insight into developing Government policy

* help identify the targets and milestones that different stakeholders involved in the construction industry think the Strategy should set for the future.

This interactive workshop is free to all and will be lead by Ian Cooper of Eclipse Research Consultants and Sue Innes, Constructing Excellence.

It will be followed by a mince pie and wine reception.
