| Details | Commercial Awareness for FM’s Aim To provide Facilities Managers with the commercial knowledge needed to deal effectively with the issues that concern senior management. Objectives By the end of this course you will be able to describe: How FM fits into the financial activity of organisations How to set up and control facilities budgets How to set up and analyse cost and service structures The legal and financial responsibilities that Facilities Managers carry The factors associated with outsourcing services Basic principles of effective business cases The principles of strategy setting Description The course is designed for those new to financial responsibilities or wishing to improve their knowledge of how FM fits with the financial activity. To provide delegates with the knowledge to set up facilities budgets, cost and service structures taking into account the commercial considerations associated with an effective and professional operation. During the course, delegates will examine the legal and financial responsibilities that Facilities Managers carry, the construction and control of budgets, analysis of service structures and costs, consider factors associated with outsourcing services and approach the production of business cases effectively. In addition, delegates will be given a grounding in strategy setting. A number of syndicate sessions will be used to reinforce the subjects discussed during the course. The main objective is to provide Facilities Managers with the ability to carry an effective message to their senior managers and above. The course is not intended to provide detailed accounting knowledge; separate courses are available on Financial Management. |
