Professional Standards and Education Committee
The professional standing and success of Individual & Corporate members, and the Institute as a whole, is the key to our future. The Professional Standards & Education Committee is charged with overseeing the strategy and development of the BIFM’s professional infrastructure. This includes BIFM Core Competences, and provision for qualifications, examinations, personal development. This structure has matured over the last twelve years and much has been achieved. The aim has always been to establish credibility in the market place for the Institute and its members. However, the world about us is always shifting. The demand for FM services changes; government and EU regulations shift; and the needs of our members change.
There are a whole range of PS&E initiatives that respond to these demands. Our way forward is plotted with such diverse activities as updating, improving and re-structuring Qualifications, Examinations, Accreditation standards and processes, Core Competences, and becoming better-integrated into UK, EU and international qualification schemes. This work and much else is undertaken by the PS&E directorate at Saffron Walden.
