Ireland Region

Welcome to the Ireland Region of BIFM from all of your committee and members.

 

Having returned from a period of absence, I am delighted to once more take up the Chair of your Region.  It is a great honour to do so and will be my second time to hold the position in the 12 years that I have been a member of our Institute.

 

Your Ireland branch has gone from strength to strength, growing in membership and operating a highly successfully annual conference for 16 years alongside an ambitious event programme.  In recent years we have visited the Cork School of Music, the Irish national Maritime College and the highly exciting Titanic Quarter project, to name but a few.  This year we are already deeply involved as a committee in the early stage planning for Conference 2012 and the associated monthly events that will run throughout the year.

 

Of course none of this can work without your ideas and support and I hope you will take the opportunity to attend some of the site visits which I and the committee will be organising throughout the coming year.  These events are a fantastic way, to not only learn at first hand and see interesting buildings, the challenges and innovation surrounding their management, add to your developing CPD record, but importantly excellent opportunities to meet like-minded professionals and network within your FM community.

 

I also envisage regular seminars, designed to keep FM professionals up to date with what’s happening in our industry as well as keeping you abreast of change to legislation and the affect it could have on your operations and business.

 

Our 16^th annual conference will take place during November 2012 and once again this year we intend to use the exciting Waterfront Hall, Belfast.  I cannot stress enough how your input to selecting the broad range of topics and speakers both for the conference and seminar programme is to the continuing success of our region.  I would encourage you to contact me or any of your committee at any time with feedback, views, ideas or suggestions that you believe can contribute to our growth

 

It is through your interaction with us as a committee that enables us to better support you as a valued member of the BIFM Ireland region.
