London Region

2012 sees London not only hosting the Olympics and the Paralympics, but also the Queen’s Silver Jubilee – all of which are going to add to the daily workload of many of London’s FMs.

While these events will impact on Security, Logistics and possibly Staffing as well, we still need to consider the many other aspects that FM is involved in and as such the London region has planned a series of events leading up to and following the 2012 games that will continue to inform and update our members along with various social events that enable members to relax and network amongst their peer group.

Although some of the dates are still to be confirmed, this is our 2012 event list.

February – a visit to an educational establishment that has had significant energy saving work carried out.

March – PFI, we hear about a PFI with both the client and service provider describing how the contract is working.

March – Recruitment event. An opportunity to hear from experts in the industry with do’s and don’ts, relevant whether you are recruiting or seeking a new position.

April – Visit to a Laboratory campus with a tour and talk around managing such buildings

May - Lighting event with visits to some ‘very well lit’ buildings.

June – Golf Day at Highgate Golf Course 26th June

June – Quizcrawl – event with Risings and International SIGS 28th June

June – Annual River Thames event – social event on or next to the River Thames

August – DDA update event to coincide with the Paralympics

October – Sustainability event with speaker Will Day

November – Asbestos update

We welcome members old and new to our events, if it is your first event then please do make yourself known to one of the London committee – we are a friendly region and always keen to meet other members or potential members.
