London Region Region

Welcome to the BIFM London region.

We are committed to organising quality events focusing on FM in London and providing a good mix of educational content and networking opportunities. The key events held last year were the annual conference, the summer party, the AGM and the London Golf Day – all of  which will be repeated this year.

Our conference in March held at the Wellcome Trust was sold out, thanks to our main sponsors Principle Cleaning, Mayflower Washroom Solutions and BPR Group. We also had a fantastic summer party at London Zoo, which despite being held on what seemed like the only wet day in July, saw almost 200 members and guests enjoy cocktails and a BBQ while raising money for the Prince’s Trust and the BIFM’s chairman's charities. Our more recent AGM in December, kindly hosted by Adobe and sponsored by Workplace Fabric, provided some thought-provoking commentary on the future of FM and technology.

A big thank you to our growing list of sponsors including Guardian Water Treatment, Principle Cleaning, BPR Group, Mayflower Washroom Solutions, Catch 22, ComXo, Julius Rutherfoord, PRS, ECAS, Workplace Fabric, Custom Security Solutions, Optimum and Restaurant Associates. Thanks to them the London region hosted some of the best and most attended events we have ever held as a region.

Our membership has grown to around 4,500 members, we are the largest region in the UK, which is reflected in the excellent attendance at our events – we regularly operate waiting lists for our at-capacity events, and the fantastic venues we secure.

Following a hugely successful 2017, this year looks set to be even better. We are already planning the London Region conference, to be held on 5th March at the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Once again sponsored by Principle Cleaning, this year’s theme, Innovation and Technology will see speakers discuss how the latest technology is helping FM and business to become more efficient, whilst presenting plenty of challenges along the way; cyber-security and data-privacy being just two to mention. The event complements perfectly the BIFM’s own annual conference ThinkFM in May. Our aim, through the conference and our events throughout the year, is to provide a perfect blend of educational content and networking opportunities.

This year, I am tackling my own personal challenge. Later this month I will have a busy week running seven marathons on seven continents in seven days, all in aid of the Prince’s Trust, and as a way to celebrate a significant birthday. If you are able to support this worthy cause then please donate at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jason-cousins2 and I’ll be reporting back on my experience during the year.

As always we look forward to welcoming you to our events. If you haven’t been to one before, then please do drop the committee a note in advance and we would be pleased to make a few introductions for you on the night. If you have any suggestions for events, or any other feedback, please do get in touch.

Kind regards,
