Welcome to the Sector Forum for Education

The Education Sector Forum represents the interests of members working in the Education Sector. Our group was formed in October 2003 and we have representation on the Members Council.  Our remit and purpose is to bring together members who work in the many different areas of Education, such as

·         Schools
·         Colleges
·         Universities
·         Local Education Authorities
·         Service suppliers to the Education Sector
·         Consultants and professional advisers to the Education Sector
·         and others with a professional interest in the built learning environments
          of the Education Sector

We organise events to bring people together, to share ideas and exchange information.  Events are sometimes held jointly with SIGs or Regional Groups.

We have established links with the Association of University Directors of Estates (AUDE), the Association of Colleges (AoC) and the Independent School Bursars Association (ISBA).  Some of our members have given presentations, hosted workshops and written articles about the issues facing FMs working in the sector.  For the past two years we have also supported the Education Resources and Facilities Forum events each November.

Our website pages show examples of what we have done to date, with information on our plans for the future.  If you would like to join us on the steering committee, please contact a committee member – the list is shown on our website.

As chair of the Forum, and on behalf of the committee, I look forward to welcoming you to one of educational / networking events, and to your contributions on the website Forum pages.

Logged-in BIFM members can click the link to the left to 'subscribe' to this group.

Best wishes
