Healthcare

Our purpose is to bring together members of the Institute who are working in or have a professional interest in facilities management in the Healthcare sector. Our vision is to be the voice of members of BIFM, representing the value that FM brings to the Health sector in support of the delivery of Healthcare.

The forum will provide networking opportunities, advice and guidance to BIFM members employed within, or connected to the healthcare market place. The forum is the representative voice of healthcare sector facilities staff into to the BIFM Members Council and the Board, providing feedback and advice from the forum members on healthcare FM related topics and issues.

BIFM has set up the forum to:
  • Provide an effective means of networking amongst Health sector BIFM practitioners
  • Provide guidance and support to the BIFM Members Council and Board
  • To be an effective lobbying group on behalf of the BIFM in influencing and voicing opinions on Health sector related issues with stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Provide a forum for exchange and knowledge share on health sector FM related issues
  • Represent and influence FM practice and policy development in the Healthcare sector
  • To facilitate inter-sector networking and the sharing of best practice
To achieve these the forum will arrange programmes of activities including:
  1. Networking events e.g. talks, visits, and social; some events will be held in collaboration with Regions and other professional bodies and associations.
  2. Knowledge exchange via web site and publications. This may include Forum specific ‘journals’, online or in print, to support communication.
  3. Research Collaboration, including innovation and benchmarking.
  4. Other relevant activities e.g. participation in the BIFM Annual Conference
Please browse through the forum web pages, and participate in the exchange of views and information on the forum page. However, for the sector forum to be effective and add real value for BIFM members, active participation from all forum members and affiliated partners is expected and necessary.
