The People Management SIG is now, unbelievably, entering the terrible twos! The steering committee had its inaugural meeting on 8th July 2009 and, following a membership survey, the SIG was officially launched on 24th March 2010.

Your common issues were motivation, performance management, TUPE, bullying and harassment, absence management, stress, and over the last two years we have delivered events covering the first four of those topics.

The launch event was hosted by Boston Consulting and Incentive FM provided some delicious food and refreshments. Sejal Raja, a lawyer with Radcliffe Le Brasseur, shared her TUPE expertise in an easy to understand and very informative way and Tracey Dyer led the event participants in a number of case studies to enable them to put their new knowledge to practical use. Tracey and Suzanne Jackson (two of the steering committee members) produced a top tip guide ‘TUPE or not TUPE’ for participants to take away.

At TWM In October 2010 the SIG presented a joint session with Women in FM Chair Liz Kentish, called ‘Sparkling Moments’, which illustrated the power of positive thinking and effective feedback.

In December that year we hosted the first ever Webinar during which Jenny Thorp, from DMH Stallard, shared her expertise on bullying and harassment
