| Details | The Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH), part of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), is the UK’s Centre of Excellence for research in the terrestrial and freshwater environmental sciences. The main duties of this role will be the management and development of both the site Facilities Team and the effective provision of site facilities and services (which includes in house and contracted facilities services). In addition to this you will also manage the site facilities budget. The successful candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to communicate to all members of staff and visitors at every level. An ability to lead effectively, develop and manage a diverse group of staff, covering various disciplines, into a cohesive group is key to succeeding in this role. It is essential that you are able to develop and adapt to changing organisational requirements, effectively and independently make assessments and interpretations of problems and solutions, and be able to implement within a structured approach. A high level of numerical ability will be required in order ensure the accuracy of technical and budgetary data. Knowledge/training in facilities to BIFM standards, Health and Safety to NEBOSHH Certificate level, and general management skills are desirable. A sound understanding of site facilities and services in order to deal with a variety of issues would also be advantageous.
