Details The Operations Centre is the joint services centre for the Institute of Food Research (www.ifr.ac.uk) and John Innes Centre (www.jic.ac.uk).

The Head of Estates is responsible for providing a cost effective, high quality Facilities Management service to two geographically adjacent world class scientific research campuses whose modern laboratories, offices, controlled environments and experimental glasshouses total 700,000 sq ft. The service includes reactive and PPM, major and minor
capital projects, estate planning and development, and soft FM services including security, catering, reception, cleaning and conference support.

The Estates team consists of over 50 employed staff, managing total annual direct costs of over £3M.
The successful applicant will have substantial proven experience of working at a senior management level in a construction/maintenance/FM role and will be a member of a relevant engineering or property related institution, preferably with chartered status. The post holder will
need strong financial management skills and be able to lead the Estates function in support of the two institutes as they develop their strategic plans within the Norwich Research Park.

Salary on appointment will be within the range £40,150 to £45,675 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is an indefinite term contract.
