Inclusive Access, Disability and the Equality Act
The objective of this second edition is to provide the Facilities Management sector with up to date guidance on meeting legal requirements under the Equality Act 2010 and ensuring the needs of all potential building and service users are met through the provision of an inclusive environment.
The first section of the guide gives an overview of why inclusive services are important. The body of the guide then explains why the facilities manager has such a unique role with practical items to consider on a day-to-day basis.
The guide gives an overview of how to include the needs of the whole population when designing and selecting buildings, furnishings and fittings as well as developing management regimes, receiving visitors, and preparing evacuation strategies.
