1 Oct 2008	DECs and EPCs become mandatory All government buildings must from today have a display energy certificate (DEC) on show for the public.
1 Jul 2008	EPCs pass second deadline The Energy Performance Certificate scheme passes another deadline today – with UK businesses of more than 26,909 ft expected to produce certificates to prospective buyers or tenants when their property is built, sold or leased.
1 Jul 2008	Minister calls for calm over Building Regs The government yesterday responded to industry concerns about Building Regulations compliance saying that “poor compliance and ineffectual enforcement regime seems to be a common perception” but calling on sector to “keep things in perspective”.
13 Mar 2008	Energy certificate rules relaxed The government is introducing some flexibility surrounding Energy Performance Certificates for large properties that are on the market, but haven’t been sold before the April deadline.
12 Mar 2008	Budget sets out green build plans All new non-domestic buildings are to be carbon neutral by 2019, the Chancellor has stated in his first Budget
