Please note when applying for membership of BIFM we will ask for your contact details, supporting materials and payment for your application.

Associate Membership

Available to any individual who has an interest in FM and is willing to be bound by the rules of the Institute. No experience in FM is required.

Member Grade (MBIFM)
There are 4 routes to gain Member grade, these are:

(a) Application via BIFM Level 4 or 5 Qualification
(b) Application via BIFM Part I Qualification
(c) Other Relevant Qualifications
(d) Vocational

Certified Membership (CBIFM)
There are 4 routes to gain Certified grade, these are:

(a) Application via BIFM Level 6 Qualification
(b) Application via BIFM Part II Qualification
(c) Application via BIFM accredited HE Qualification in FM at Level 6 or above
(d) Application via Exempting Qualifying Criteria.

Student Members and other concessions

Students
If you are studying for a degree in Facilities Management or you are studying for the BIFM Qualifications Level 4, 5 or 6 you will be eligible for a student concession which will reduce your subscription to £67.00 per year, regardless of your membership grade. In order to claim this rate of membership you will be asked for proof of your student status.

Unemployed Members
If you are unemployed you are eligible to claim a reduced subscription for one year. Please contact the membership department on 0845 058 1358 or at membership@bifm.org.uk for more information.

Retired Members
If you are over 60 and no longer receiving income, you are eligible to apply for a retired concessionary rate of membership. Again, please contact the membership department for further information.
