To become a member of BIFM please apply online using the links below.
When you apply for membership of BIFM we will ask for your contact details, work experience details and payment for your application. If you need an invoice you are able to request one on the application form.
Associate Member Grade Membership
To become an Associate Member you do not need to have any specific qualifications or experience in FM. This grade of membership is suitable for those who are starting out in a career in Facilities Management.
Member Grade Membership
Applications for Full Membership of BIFM must be accompanied by a CV and a current job description. Applicants are asked to record the number of years experience that they have in FM as applied to the BIFM competences

Full membership is available to Facilities Managers who have five years experience of working within the FM sector.

If you have moved into FM from another sector and have a minimum of three years experience in FM, combined with previous management experience, you may be eligible for Full membership. Please email your CV to membership@bifm.org.uk or call the membership department on 0845 058 1358 we will be happy to advise you.

If you have passed parts 1 and 2 of the BIFM examinations or if you have a MSc from a BIFM accredited university, you are eligible to apply for Full Membership with two years experience in FM.
Student Members and other concessions
Students
If you are studying for a degree in Facilities Management or you are studying for the BIFM Examinations you will be eligible for a student concession which will reduce your subscription to £56.00 per year, regardless of your membership grade. In order to claim this rate of membership you will be asked for proof of your student status.
Examination Candidates
If you have already booked onto the BIFM examinations and paid your examination fee, you will automatically be given free membership for one year so please do not apply using these pages.
Unemployed Members
If you are unemployed you are eligible to claim a reduced subscription for one year. Please contact the membership department on 0845 058 1358 or at membership@bifm.org.uk for more information.
Retired Members
If you are over 60 and no longer working, you are eligible to apply for a retired concessionary rate of membership. Again, please contact the membership department for further information.
