Step 2

Your application will be assessed against the BIFM competency framework.  The competencies are split into six sections.

Section 1: You must be able to demonstrate your experience in all of these areas if you are applying for Member grade.

- Understanding Business Organisation
- Managing People
- Managing Resources

Section 2: You must be able to demonstrate your experience in one of the following three areas if you are applying for Member grade.

- Managing Premises
- Managing Services
- Managing the Working Environment

In order to become a full member of BIFM, we would usually expect applicants to have 5 years experience in Facilities Management

If you have between 3 and 5 years experience in FM, you may still be eligible for member grade providing you can demonstrate at least five years managerial experience in another sector on your CV.
