BIFM has taken the next step to achieve its objective of becoming an e-institute.

The Institute’s partner, Virtual Property Market (VPM) has developed a BIFM branded e-tender zone which provides a full e-tendering and supplier sourcing service for all BIFM members.

This new service will enable all BIFM members to instigate and complete the full tender process via a secure link from the BIFM website incorporating supplier sourcing, supplier management, e-prequalification and e-tendering.

Launched at the Facilities Show (NEC, Birmingham 11th – 13th May) at 12 noon on 11th May 2004, BIFM will be running live demonstrations of their e-tendering service from their stand over the three days of the show.

The major benefits of this new service will be to minimise the paper mountain, time and administration burden which are all problems being encountered by the facilities manager currently involved in the traditional tendering process.

The web service mirrors the traditional process but streamlines it, providing full transparency and accountability for clients as well as a tender alert service for suppliers.
