BIFM Annual Conference 2009 – call for papers

04-07-08 9:34 BIFM

Submissions for BIFM’s Annual Conference 2009 are now being invited and will see a return to Keble College, Oxford with the popular theme of ‘sustainability’, for the second year.

The conference title “Sustainability in action - embedding sustainable FM in your organisation”, has been chosen as a result of both formal and informal feedback which shows sustainability to still be the key issue, not just for BIFM members and previous conference attendees but across the profession and industry as a whole.

In 2009, the conference will explore sustainability in several dimensions. Parallel sessions will be based on 4 themes:

  • Social & Skills, focusing on communication, awareness and education
  • Organisations & Business, looking at the economic side of sustainability, managing costs, risk and legislative issues
  • Environmental impact, including energy management and reducing energy consumption
  • Embedding Sustainable Practices, which should provide examples of case studies in this area

The conference will take place from Tuesday 31st March to Wednesday 1st April.2009. Please visit www.bifm.org.uk/bifm/knowledge/submissions to submit your paper - the deadline is 3rd Sept  2008.

The full conference programme will be available later in the year but please register your interest to attend by visiting the special conference website www.bifmconference.com or by contacting Becky Montwill becky.montwill@redactive.co.uk 0207 880 6214.
