Bringing together group membership

16-04-09 14:16 BIFM

As the FM market matures, some companies have indicated that they are looking for a different form of membership – one where their individual staff can be fully supported at their correct membership grade and gain full personal and professional recognition for their experience and qualifications.  Over the past year, the BIFM has been fortunate to be able to test out a new form of membership – Group Membership, as a pilot scheme with one of the leading FM management supply firms, Trillium.

Trillium wanted specifically to enable as many of their FM staff to become BIFM members at the appropriate grade and to encourage them to participate widely in BIFM events.  A recent satisfaction survey sent to Trillium staff in the scheme showed that they had achieved greater knowledge of the FM market, increased their skills and raised their personal profiles.

The Group scheme provides membership for the company itself, encouraging high level engagement with BIFM as well as the individuals involved in the scheme.  It is aimed at companies with in-house FM staff, or those supplying FM management services and offers centralised membership invoicing, supported by dedicated account management.

The scheme will be launched to the industry in 2009, but if you would like some advance information or discuss whether your company would be suitable for the scheme, contact Libby Tooley, Group Membership Account Manager on 0845 058 1356.
