A big thank you to all those BIFM members who took the time to complete our first annual survey. Just under 600 members completed the survey giving us a wealth of information to develop our future strategy.
The survey covered a broad range of topics, but here are some of the highlights…
68% of respondents were satisfied with their membership of the BIFM with 88% believing that membership of the BIFM was important. The BIFM was seen as keeping you informed, professional with a good reputation. Looking at the communications provided by the BIFM, 45% visit the BIFM at least weekly, and 94% of you receive a news alert, with BIFM news and FM world being seen as the most useful.
The Facilities Show and local events were the most attended, however Total Workplace Management and the Annual Conference were judged as the most useful. Those who had not attended any event cited time and locality as the key barriers.
Respondents were also asked to suggest new services which they would find useful – these included more information and advice and more support for personal careers and development – both are currently being considered for further development.
We have now also put in place a research plan to look at a number of issues throughout 2010, so please continue to complete the surveys – as your feedback is essential to make sure the BIFM meets your needs in the future.
