More than 50 keen golfers from the South and Home Counties regions started out on a golf course in June, to compete in the second joint region golf day for a place in the BIFM national finals.
The venue was the challenging Donnington Grove Golf and Country Club and it proved a stern test for even the most accomplished golfers among the groups.
The organisers were once again Chas and Dave, better known as Charlie Sorbie of Temco Services and Dave Barrett of Ordnance Survey, ensuring the day progressed as planned.
A morning nine hole Texas Scramble competition provided the players with a warm-up and this was followed by the 18 holes qualifying competition to find the individual and corporate teams in the afternoon.
Golf buggies, provided by sponsors BMG, were essential on this course and greatly appreciated by all golfers for the 27 holes played.
Sponsors for nearest pin and longest drive prizes were Mountjoy, Dynamiq, Temco and Kinnarps. Headline sponsor BMG welcomed golfers and managed the two competitions for the day with Matt James from Total Golf Events. Sincere thanks to Simon Darvall and BMG for this support.
The Region Winners were:
South Region Individual Team
Dave Richards, Chris Windass, Carl Wadmore and Dave Barrett
Home Counties Individual Team
Andrew Philpot, John O’Brien, Barry Dick and James Newman

Thanks go to Dovetail HR who kindly sponsored and donated prizes for the charity raffle which raised £180.
