Take part in a survey into the scale and scope of UK organisations’ green ambitions for the workplace

From 8-21 February, the BIFM and Low Carbon Workplace Ltd are teaming up to invite facilities and estate management professionals to share their organisations’ green ambitions for the workplace in an online survey.
According to the Carbon Trust, the UK’s stock of 1.8m non-domestic buildings consume some 300TWh of energy a year and are responsible for 108 million tonnes CO2, around 18% of total UK CO2 emissions. The government has set a target of 80% reduction on the UK’s 1990 levels by 2050, and attention is turning to the non-domestic property sector as a source of carbon emissions reduction.
Organisations are taking a variety of steps to reduce their carbon emissions, whether driven by regulation or from a corporate social responsibility, employee engagement, cost saving or other perspective. Many are reporting similar challenges too, including improvements from ‘light touch’ retrofits compromised by poor building fabric or plant, difficulty in winning employee engagement and engaging suppliers with a carbon reduction campaign.
What are your organisation’s environmental objectives and priorities for the workplace? Are they achievable? Are they ambitious enough? Share your experience.
The results will be made available to respondents in March.
