The 2050 Group from the Construction Industry Council (CIC) is encouraging BIFM members to take part in their survey.

The survey has been designed by CICís 2050 Group to help understand the outlook from inside the construction and professional body industries. BIFM members will be asked what they think about the current built environment and their aspirations for the future.

The findings will help the CICís 2050 Group to create a report about the industry climate, which will be circulated among senior industry professionals and bodies via the CIC and inform any future activities and initiatives organised by the 2050 Group. The final report will also be available online as a download.

The CICís 2050 Group as a taskforce is working towards how to achieve sustainability and carbon neutral construction by 2050, and will use the survey as part of the collaboration and discussion between the construction industry and professional bodies on these topics.†

The 2050 Group represents all key professional disciplines, and is set to bridge the gap between industry leaders and the next generations of industry professionals to help evolve the construction industry.

Another key objective for the group is to provide clear representation and a distinct voice for future generations, thought leadership, new perspectives and innovation.

Sofie Hooper, Senior Policy Advisor at BIFM, said: ďCICís 2050 Group is the collaborative forum for members of all construction disciplines and professional bodies to develop ideas, share knowledge and promote advancement of sustainable industry initiatives with a view to achieving a carbon neutral construction industry by the year 2050.

ďBy feeding into this survey every participant can help shape the thought leadership to promote more sustainable strategies and practices within the built environment industry.† As an industry, we play an important role in contributing to the Governmentís climate change targets, the benefits of which will have positive consequences for generations to follow.Ē

More about the survey

The survey will enable individuals to express views on whether they find the built environment an inspirational industry to work in. It will also guide the Group in its strategic planning for future activities; and its findings will inform a report which will be circulated among senior industry figures and the main industry bodies via the Construction Industry Council.

Please be assured that the answers you provide will be treated in the strictest confidence and the anonymity of all participants will be secured in this survey.
