World FM Day. Take your 15 Minutes of FM Fame. By Jamie Harris, Features Editor, FM World

FM World 15 minutes of fame"World FM Day (and week) is around the corner. BIFM and its Regions and Special Interest Groups are hosting events across the country, but for those committed to a day on site with clients or at the office, there's another way to get involved.

Following on from last year, FM World will once again be running its 15 Minutes of FM Fame live blog on Wednesday 13 July. We're looking to showcase the diverse nature of an FM's role by speaking to FMs across the world and finding out what they are working on, and where they are working.

Our idea is simple - to give FM professionals their own 15-minute slot to explain exactly what they're up to at that time.

Last year, we spoke with FMs working on site at London Zoo; the man looking after copies of the Magna Carta in Durham Cathedral; FMs overseeing training courses for their staff; someone getting their hands dirty working on lift upgrades; and an FM team testing out new menu options from its hospital catering provider.
In fact, you can check out last year's blog here.

We would love to speak to as many FM professionals as possible, painting a picture of the variety this particular career path can offer. The blog is great fun, and for me, it's just fantastic to speak to dozens of facilities managers going about their work, genuinely enjoying what they do.

As we're painting a picture, we're happy to receive some action photos from you as well, or even video or audio if you're brave enough. And if you're London-based and within close proximity of our Farringdon offices, you are most welcome to pop in and have a chat.

Does this sound like you? Let me know.† I'd love to have a quick chat next Wednesday and find out what you're up to.
