WiFM Summer Social - Placemaking and Managing the Public Realm at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park
22nd August 2018 (6:00AM - 9:00PM)
|Location||The Last Drop Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, 5 Thornton Street, London E20 2AD|
|Details||“Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has continued to be in the spotlight since hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Park’s journey from games time, through transformation to a dynamic new centre for East London has thrown up exciting opportunities and challenges for the FM contract as millions of visitors have enjoyed attending events, daily use of venues, strolling through the parklands and socialising. Soon, thousands more will live and work on the Park as it continues to develop.
Join us at the WIFM Summer Social for this collaborative event between WIFM and the Landscape Institute to hear from those who are responsible for managing the parklands, venues, community engagement programmes and development of the Park. You’ll be able to learn about how the Facilities Management and Landscape Architecture professions can work in partnership to ensure our public spaces and buildings are managed and maintained effectively for the benefit of millions.”
If you would like to come to the Park before the event starts you can enjoy a walk with our expert Park Champion volunteer guides and learn about Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park – from its conception and creation, to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, through to its transformation into the beautiful Park we have today. The walk will start at 4:30pm at the Park’s Information Point and finish at the event venue. These will be charged at £8 adults and £6 Concessions – please register on the link and bring cash on the day. Any technical questions you have on FM or Landscape design/Management can be saved for the panel!
