Welcome to the BIFM London region.
We are committed to organising quality events focusing on FM in London and providing a good mix of educational content and networking opportunities. The key event held so far this year is the annual conference, with the summer party, AGM and the London Golf Day all coming up in the next few months.
Our conference in March held at the Institution of Engineering and Technology focused on technology and FM and was sold out. Once again sponsored by Principle Cleaning, this year’s theme – innovation and technology – saw speakers discuss how the latest technology is helping FM and business to become more efficient but also presenting plenty of challenges along the way – cyber-security, data-privacy being just two to mention. The event complements perfectly the BIFM’s own annual conference ThinkFM on 1 May. Thanks to our main conference sponsors Principle Cleaning, Mayflower Washroom Solutions and BPR Group who join a growing list of supporters to the region including Guardian Water Treatment, Catch 22, ComXo, Julius Rutherfoord, PRS, Amey, Workplace Fabric, Custom Security Solutions, Optimum and Restaurant Associates. Last year, thanks to them, the London region hosted some of the best and most attended events we have ever held as a region.
Our fantastic summer party at London Zoo, which despite being held on what seemed like the only wet day in July, saw almost 200 members and guests enjoy cocktails and a BBQ while raising money for the Prince’s Trust and the BIFM’s chairman's charities. Look out for this year’s venue – details will be announced soon. Our more recent AGM in December, kindly hosted by Adobe and sponsored by Workplace Fabric, provided some thought-provoking commentary on the future of FM and technology.
Our membership has grown to around 4,500 members, we are the largest region in the UK, which is reflected in the excellent attendance at our events – we regularly operate waiting lists for our at-capacity events – and the fantastic venues we secure.
This year, I also tackled my own personal challenge. In January I spent a busy week running seven marathons on seven continents in seven days, all in aid of the Prince’s Trust, and as a way to celebrate a significant birthday. Thank you to all my supporters, and those who allowed me to share the experience at this year’s conference.
As always we look forward to welcoming you to our events. If you haven’t been to one before, then please do drop me a note in advance and I would be pleased to make a few introductions for you on the night. If you have any suggestions for events, or any other feedback, please do get in touch on email@example.com.
