BIFM Awards highlight the impact of outstanding FM

The recent BIFM Awards offered an opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding facilities management across business, the environment and society.
Held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London, the annual event celebrates FM achievement, and this year included awards for Impact on Customer Service, Impact on Employee Experience, Impact on the Environment, Impact on Organisational Performance and Impact on Society.
Macro Emirates Air Line were winners of the Impact on Customer Service award, for their innovative operation of Emirates’ Air Lines Cable Car on behalf of Transport for London (TfL) – the first urban cable car in the country.
The award for Impact on Employee Experience was awarded to Johnson & Johnson for their 2020 Workplace Experience Strategy (WES). In 2015 Johnson & Johnson began a project establishing themselves as world leaders in innovation and employee experience, ensuring they were not just a place to work but also projecting a core cultural identity and values through physical spaces and employees.
Landsec received the Impact on the Environment award for their “caring for the environment” initiative, shaping their sustainability and environmental strategies around the issues which mattered most to their stakeholders.
UBS’s Group Corporate Services Integrated Facility Management Team (IFM) embarked on an unprecedented change project during 2010, to create their new London office. They received the Impact on Organisational Performance award for their project, which involved migrating 6,000 colleagues and decommissioning six legacy buildings at the same time.
And the Impact on Society award went to Recycling Lives, a unique recycling and waste management organisation, established to create social impact as a result of its FM services, offering opportunities for tangible CSR to clients via charitable activities.
Steve Gladwin, Director, Nodus Solutions and Chair of BIFM Award Judges commented on winners of the awards for impact; “These awards offer a fantastic snapshot of some hugely impactful work taking place across the FM industry."
