BIFM has today (15 January) announced the appointment of Chris Moriarty as Director of Insight.
Chris’s appointment completes CEO Linda Hausmanis’s plan to strengthen her leadership team at BIFM following the appointment of Jaqueline Balian as Commercial Director last autumn.
The introduction of the role further strengthens BIFM’s aim to be the voice representing the facilities management industry, and the professionals within it, and its intention to build upon the progress made during 2017 with the research programme and policy arm. The role will look to ensure the Institute keeps a finger on the pulse of the ever-changing FM landscape, is ahead of the latest trends and ultimately provides leadership for the profession, something that will influence the products and services that BIFM offers.
This will be Chris’ second spell with BIFM either side of a period at Leesman, the leading workplace effectiveness benchmarking organisation. Returning as a key member of the Executive, where he will provide strategic leadership to enhance the Institute’s value proposition, Chris’s work will develop and enrich BIFM’s voice and authority on some of the key challenges facing FM.
Chris brings extensive professional body experience as well as a track record in delivering industry wide thought leadership and policy campaigns on top of strategic marketing and sales experience as Managing Director for UK & Ireland at Leesman.
Prior to his first spell at BIFM as Head of Insight and Corporate affairs, where he worked to establish the Institute as the voice of the sector, Chris was Head of Corporate Affairs at the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
BIFM CEO, Linda Hausmanis, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Chris back to the Institute. His knowledge of our industry combined with his customer insight expertise will be a great asset to BIFM and to our membership.
“Chris will play a significant part in helping to develop and enrich BIFM’s voice at a critical time for our industry. His expertise will ensure we shape the right products and services for members and boost our efforts to advance the sector as a whole.
BIFM Chairman, Stephen Roots, said: “We’ve focused on strengthening our senior team throughout the last year as we look ahead to the challenges our sector faces. As an industry we account for around seven per cent of UK GDP, but the impact good facilities management can have on wider organisational performance is even more significant.
“With a dynamic, high profile and talented senior team in place, we can focus our efforts on providing a framework for ever-greater support for FM professionals, both in terms of the education we offer and through our work to highlight the importance of our members’ work.”
