BIFM announces partnership with the Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers

The British Institute of Facilities Management and the Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers, one of the ancient City of London Liveries (or Guilds) have announced a unique partnership between the two organisations.

The collaboration acknowledges an already strong relationship, with more than 50 BIFM members also being Pattenmakers. The partnership seeks to raise awareness of the activities of both organisations, and BIFM members, particularly the Fellows will be invited to join the Livery through the normal admission process, and encouraged to participate in Pattenmakers’ activities.

Whilst the Livery has its historical roots in the footwear industry, the facilities management group has existed for over 20 years within the Pattenmakers and is a vibrant force within the organisation.

The first collaborative event to take place since the signing of the partnership agreement will be a BIFM Fellows (FBIFM) Networking Event, on 25 July at the Institute of Directors in London. Hosted by Marilyn Standley, Chair of the Fellows Committee and recently elected BIFM Non-Executive Director. The networking evening will include a short presentation from the Worshipful Company of Pattenmakers on their history and work, as well as details of further opportunities for involvement.

There is much to be gained from this positive working relationship, which is based upon the sharing of common principles and aims to advance the FM profession. Details of further collaborative social and charitable activities will be announced in due course.
